In Memoriam: Jitterbug Webb
1941-1997
Willie "Jitterbug" Webb's passing in November 1997 left us with many fond memories.
He was a warm and generous artist who always had a smile and good words for all around him.
We'll miss you and cherish your memory and music, Jitter. Thanks.
-- Mike Davis, San Antonio Blues Society
This website, created in 1994 to introduce the world
to bluesman Jitterbug Webb, is now an historic memorial to a
man who made many happy with his artful musicianship.
He was my bandleader, mentor and friend.
He is missed to this day.
-Chip Skaggs, SuperCrew Trombonist, 1991-1996
Recently, Jitterbug was interviewed by writer Tony Watson for the August '95 issue of B&R Magazine, a British blues magazine. For highlights of that article, click here.
In 1987, Jitterbug formed his present band, Jitterbug Webb and The SuperCrew. What follows are samples of the band's unique style in music and pictures, as well as musicgraphical info on the individual members of The SuperCrew.
