1941-1997

Willie "Jitterbug" Webb's passing in November 1997 left us with many fond memories.
He was a warm and generous artist who always had a smile and good words for all around him.

He was my bandleader, mentor and friend.

He is missed to this day.

This "WebbSite" is dedicated to introducing the extraordinary musical talents of blues guitarist and vocalist, Jitterbug Webb, veteran of the hot Texas blues scene for the past 40 years.

Texans have always accounted for some of the major players in the blues field, from Blind Lemon Jefferson, through T-Bone Walker, Lowell Fulson, Lightnin' Hopkins and Gatemouth Brown, to current favorites such as Robert Ealy, the late Stevie Ray Vaughan and many others. Besides the main stars, there are many worthwhile figures that rarely get a mention in the history books, people such as ex-Johnny Otis, The Monkees and Ike & Tina Turner sideman, Willie "Jitterbug" Webb, who has been paying his dues for some time now, both in his homestate of Texas and wider afield.
